Activities and Impact

In the 2022/23 Season. Wanderers Football Club held the Inaugural Breast Cancer Awareness Game in Australian Football League Northern Territory (AFLNT) history; with the full intention and commitment to make this an annual event. This round resulted in Men's Premier League. Men's Premier League Reserves. Women's Premier League. and Women's Division 2 teams all wearing specially designed pink. blue and gold uniforms during this round. The purpose of this event was to raise awareness on a life-threatening health issue that impacts the well-being of a growing number of women. Wanderers Football Club successfully raised over $20,000.00 for the Jane McGrath Foundation by auctioning guernseys, seeking donations from community and holding a Breast Cancer Awareness Breakfast.

Wanderers Football Club are proud to participate in several marque matches throughout the season alongside the Breast Cancer Awareness Round.

The Foundation Cup against Waratahs is held on Australia Day weekend and features two Foundation teams from1917 playing against each other in a standalone game. The club also plays for the Nungalingya Cup against Darwin Buffaloes. which signifies both clubs' important cultural connections and history to Larrakia Country and its elders.
